Snow in November

Well, today is the last day of November.  Thankfully the snow has gone away.  We had a massive snow storm Friday night / Saturday morning.  We apparently only got the tail end of the storm,  North East copped it harder than us.  Anyway this morning the rain is back and the snow is gone.

I have managed to cross the frozen wastes and get to my shed during the white-out.  At the moment I am looking through half finished turnings and stuff that is not really good enough for sale and tarting it up

Mystery Wood pot about 5 inches tall

Oak treated with Liming Wax - Pin dish - 5 inches across.  Love the way the grain is highlighted.

This is a wine bottle coaster made in Bubinga also known as African Rosewood (Guibertia spp)

Later I will put these on sale on Folksy.

Wine bottle coaster eh!  It's intended use is to stop wine bottles dribbling onto your best tablecloth...I think I am the only person I know who uses a table cloth and eats all meals at the dining room table.  Does that make me sound posh?  It shouldn't as I haven't got a dining room, just an 'L' shaped living room with a table up one arm,  next to the kitchen door. Goint to play at putting those things above for sale.  I'll report back when I have made a million...

Every now and again I try and resurrect this venerable Blog.

Lets try again,  here we are in 2021...indeed November 2021 so not long left. For readers of the future we are hopefully nearing the end of a major "Pandemic" caused by some allegedly Chinese bug called Covid 19.  It has and is still killing a lot of people, I just hope it vanishes as quickly as it arrived.

I have had 3 doses of the vaccine so hopefully I will survive, but as I am now three score years and thirteen there may be a question mark on that one.  I'll crack on while I can.

I'm still turning wood into pieces of pretty firewood, In fact I have just opened an accout with a Web site called "FOLKSY" and put a few items up for sale.

This Tea light made from a small Yew branch (taxus baccata) is on sale right now.  A snip at £12.00

Well my Evening meal is ready so I must leave.  As I now write a diary every day,  Only an average of one page of A5 per day, but it gives me something to look back on and keeps my fountain pens in use...well only 3 or 4 at a time...anyway I will / must incorporate the diary with the Blog and Publish more often.

Promises, promises
