Great Day Out

Had a great day out with my friend Chris B. Took the new piglet for a little potter about, we went to Slaidburn via Sabden, the Nick of Pendle and Sawley, from there we went up the Trough of Bowland, Passing through Dunsop Bridge then on the Dolphinholme, Galgate, crossed the M6 and A6 and went to Glasson Dock. After a Bacon Butty and a brew we decided to carry on to Carnforth and have a brew in the station Tea rooms where the wonderful film 'Brief Encounter' was filmed back in 1945. After that we went up to Kirby Lonsdale and stopped at the Bikers car Park at Devil's Bridge - I confess here that I succumbed and had another Bacon Butty and a mug of coffee. By then it was gettin a bit late so we came home the fast route, passing Settle, Long Preston, Gisburn and back home over the Nick of Pendle again. Great day in Great company on an even greater motorbike.

New Toy

After thinking about selling my beloved Harley Fat-Boy, for absolutely ages, I went to the local Harley Dealers in Preston and had a chat. They finished up offering me a Brand new 883 Sportster as above, and a reasonable amount of money as well. Not bad considering the Fat-Boy was 12 years old. I am really impressed with the new Piglet (Baby hog - Get it?) the handling is amazing and the engine is comparatively very smooth - not really what one expects from a Harley, but amazing none the less.
I am inspired therefore to post a few "Harley" Jokes

How is a Harley Davidson like an old dog?

They both like to ride in the back of pickup trucks.

What is the difference between a Harley Davidson and an old dog?

The dog can get in the back of the pickup by itself.

Why do Harley owners love chrome?

Makes the parts easier to find when they fall off.

What's the cheapest way to get another 50 hp from your Harley?

Trade it in on a Suzuki.

Did you know 95% of all Harleys are still on the road?

The other 5% actually made it home.
