Funny

I posted this a long time ago,  it still amuses me so I thought I would repeat it.

During a recent password audit, it was found that a
blonde was using the following password:

 "MickeyMinniePlutoHueyLouieDeweyDonaldGoofy Edinburgh

When asked why she had such a long password, she said
she was told that it had to be at least 8 characters
long and include at least one capital.
Pendle Woodturners and Carver's  March meeting last night (20/3/19)

Peter Hudson turned this Mahogany bowl from scratch as a short demonstration...Photo taken by Andrew King.  He also took some slow motion clips on his fancy all singing dancing telephone.....
I remember when telephones were used for making telephone calls!   I know, I freely admit to being a dinosaur.
We also spent some time setting up the club's video camera to work with a television which has been donated to the club by two kind members.  It will be a great benefit for future demonstrations.

G & S Timber

Had a drive up to Penrith yesterday to G& S Timber, to see a demonstration for Tormek sharpening machines.  It was quite interesting, however spent most of the time talking to Pete Osborn, who is chairman of Eden Valley Woodturners, and an excellent demonstrator.  Also there was Margaret Garrard,  one of the most talented and artistic woodturners around at the moment.

I have a Tormek sharpener however I don't use it as find it far too fiddly for my liking.  they are very good, but I prefer to used my Robert Sorby Pro-Sharp.  Not as refined but quicker for my needs.  Each to his own

There is a pic of three mushrooms I made a long time ago.  One natural, One Oiled and One varnished.  Need to improve both my turning and my photographic skills.

Ships

I've just been scanning in to the old computer some photographs of the ships I sailed on during my time in the Merchant Navy, so I thought I would share them with you  Top is Laganbank,  next is Floristan then last but by no means least my first ship...MV Border Fusilier.  Happy memories

This wonderful teddy bear,  all aspect of which were turned out of lumps of wood, except the neck tie!
My friend and fellow club member Harry Hargreaves made this for a club competition....He is about 12 inches tall and as cuddly as a lump of wood can get.  Plus all the joints move!!!!
Don't know where this will turn up in my Blog,  if you want to know more about woodturning or any of my other interests, contact me by which ever means are at you disposal.  my main email address is hgjones@virginmedia.com

Well I seem to be able to access my old Blog,  the picture above is a (Greek) helmet made from a goblet which went wrong....while trying to make the goblet even in thickness, the bowl left the stem...
after an amazing tirade of invective...to be honest I could't think of anything rude enough to say,  I drilled out the hole which used to contain the stem of the goblet,  turned the finial and made a stand out of some scrap mahogany.  well, I like it.

If you have an interest in woodturning and you are in the east Lancashire area come and join our club.  more info to follw
I haven't posted anything for a long time so I wonder if this is actually alive.  If this appears on my original blog I will continue.  Howard
